Refer to this help section when you attempt to connect a wireless Tracker Freedom® device in the Tracker™ Version 5 software and nothing happens. There is no communication with the instruments.
*This is for older versions of Tracker. Newer versions communicate via IRIS
Additionally, the TCI program does not run and the icon does not appear in the Windows system tray.
When the user attempts to run TCI.exe directly, an error is received which states the path to TCI, followed by:
This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.
In some cases, when Tracker 5.0 is installed, the Visual C++ 2008 Runtime Libraries don’t get installed. These assets are required for use in some newer functions of Tracker 5 (such as the new version of TCI with improved functionality).
To resolve this problem:
1) Close the Tracker Version 5 software
2) Navigate to the Tracker 5 application folder (typically in C:\Program Files)
3) Run the file "VC_REDISTx86.EXE"
The assets will be installed. Reopen Tracker and attempt the operation again.
If this problem persists, please install all Windows Updates. This may take several reboots.
