The Downloader software bypasses some limitations of Commander™ hardware and provides more precision.

The Commander console recognizes "pounds" as the default value.

The display unit converts Newtons to the tenth decimal at a figure of 4.4 Newtons per pound. The Downloader software converts using a more accurate figure of 4.44822162 Newtons per pound.  The result is then rounded up to the next whole Newton.

Additionally, the Commander console displays only 3 significant figures.  If 100 Newtons or more are recorded, decimals are not displayed. However, the Downloader software will account for fractions of Newtons in the conversion (even though the result is still rounded up to the next full Newton).
