The "Impair." column in the ROM selection screen provides the percent of impairment for the recorded spine or joint motion based on the edition of the American Medical Association Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment selected in the System drop-down menu.
The impairment percentage is only displayed if the Impairment Module has been purchased by the user.
The impairment percentage should never be included in a report to an insurance carrier, employer, or attorney unless the patient is at maximum medical improvement and an impairment evaluation has been requested. In some states, providing an impairment percentage can close the patient’s case for insurance and legal purposes.
