When attempting to calibrate or use your Tracker Legacy Instruments, you may be presented with a Null symbol, ø.  If you see this symbol, Tracker does not have a connection to your instruments.

Please try the following steps to connect to your devices:

  • Please power off the interface box
    • Disconnect the Interface box from the computer but unplugging the serial cable.
      • If using a serial to USB adapter, please unplug both the usb and serial sides to the adapter.
    • Disconnect the device cables from the devices and from the interface box. 
    • Plug all cables back into their appropriate positions.
    • Power on the interface box
  • Open device manager on the computer.  (Hold the Windows key and press r.  Type in devmgmt.msc and press enter)
    • Find and expand Ports (COM & LPT)
    • Locate the COM port that your Tracker box is using.  If you are using a serial to USB adapter, find the listing that corresponds to the manufacturer (e.g., Keyspan)
      • Record the COM port or make a mental note of the COM port number
    • Tracker 5 - Click System and select Communications Port.
      • Select the COM port that you recorded previously.
    • Tracker 4 - Please run C:\TrackMe\serial2.exe.
      • Select the COM port that you recorded previously.
